The State Wireless Association Program (SWAP) is a community of wireless industry professionals working together to benefit the industry and deliver the promise of wireless broadband to all Americans. SWAP is supported by WIA – The Wireless Infrastructure Association, the national trade association representing the carriers, infrastructure providers and professional services firms that make up the wireless telecommunications infrastructure industry.

WIA works with State Wireless Associations to identify opportunities to advance policies that benefit the entire wireless ecosystem and the communities it serves.  As part of its commitment to SWAP, WIA provides leadership to the State Wireless Association Board of Directors, access to education resources and speakers, event planning services, and administrative support to all State Wireless Associations.

The SWAP network of 29 associations in 38 states promotes the wireless industry through:

Advocacy – State Wireless Associations participate in a variety of legislative initiatives at the state and municipal level.  These statewide organizations conduct outreach to policy-makers and mobilize grassroots efforts to help speed deployment of the networks that deliver the many benefits of wireless broadband to their communities.

Education – State Wireless Associations offer workshops, seminars and other forums for members to learn about important industry topics and emerging issues and trends that impact the way they do business. These dynamic events attract high profile speakers, from industry leaders and innovators to policy-makers from the federal, state and municipal governments.

Engagement – State Wireless Association participants connect with colleagues, customers and perspective clients through numerous networking events, committee conference calls and other gatherings.  Stakeholders discuss best practices and exchange ideas on opportunities for growing their business and leveraging new opportunities for bringing wireless broadband to the communities in which they live, work and play.
